Vonlee "Bit" Zeek Johnson Funeral services for Vonlee "Bit" Zeek Johnson, 81, of Vidalia were held Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Baptist Church in Ferriday with Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial followed at Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born November 3, 1926, in Union Point to Tom and Isabella Carter Zeek. She passed away January 2, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Johnson; parents; and a brother, Willie Zeek.
Survivors include three sons, Zebedee Johnson and wife, Rosemary, of Baton Rouge, Melchi Johnson of Vidalia, Tommy Johnson and wife, Joann, of Ferriday; two stepsons, Richard Johnson and wife Leona, and Mitchell Johnson and wife, Mildred, all of Baton Rouge; daughter, Annie J. Bates and husband, Arthur, of Vidalia; stepdaughter, Martha Williams and husband, Edward, of Lancaster, CA; brothers, Prince Brown and wife, Ethel, and Albert Brown; sisters, Lucinda Banks, Corine Brown and Alberta Brown; sister-in-law, Leslie Zeek, all of Vidalia; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; and God sister, Mary White of Ferriday. |
