Ferriday cruises past Sicily Island

Ferriday tuned up for its district schedule with easy wins over Sicily Island Friday in Ferriday.

Ferriday's boys cruised past Sicily Island, 78-36, while the Lady Trojans used a 17-0 first quarter to coast to a 67-24 win.

Ferriday's boys led 9-8 after one period before outscoring the Tigers 25-3 in the second quarter and 20-14 in the third period.

Alrion McKeel led Ferriday with 22 points, while Montrell Tennessee added 14, DeMarco Lewis 13 and Matthew Smith 11.

The Lady Trojans led Sicily Island 21-11 at halftime before outscoring the Lady Tigers 28-2 in the third period.

Jasmine Upchurch led Ferriday with 18 points, while Ja'Lessia Davis added 16 and Raven Lewis 10.

"This was a chance for us to do some things before district play started," said Ferriday coach Lisa Abron. .
