Monterey girls down Sicily Island Monterey High split a pair of games at Sicily Island Tuesday The Lady Wolves defeated the Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Wolves, 49-32. Monterey led 9-2 after after one period and 32-9 at halftime. Madison Simpson led Monterey with 18 points, while Brooke Baker had 14. Carlos Gary scored 30 points to lead Sicily Island's boys past Monterey, 60-49. The Tigers led 17-4 after one period of play netted 12 points in the period. Beau Shively led Monterey with 15 points, while Ross Lipsey added 14. Monterey dropped a pair of games at Harrisonburg Friday. Harrisonburg's boys defeated Monterey 49-33. The contest was tied at 14-14 after one period before the Bulldogs outscored the Wolves 11-6 in the second period and 11-4 in the third quarter. Shivley led Monterey with 10 points. Harrisonburg's girls defeated Monterey. The Lady Bulldogs led 9-2 after one period and 32-11 at halftime. Simpson led the Lady Wolves with 14 points,.
