GRAND JURY TO CONTINUE FERRIDAY POLICE DEPARTMENT PROBE IN FEBRUARY

On February 6th, the Concordia Parish Grand Jury will continue its investigation into alleged misconduct within the Ferriday Police Department. Dist. Atty. John Johnson subpoenaed 12 individuals late Tuesday afternoon to appear before the panel.

SHERIFF AUDIT CLEAN; ASSETS $10 MILLION

Assets for the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office exceeded liabilities by $10 million on June 30, 2007, according to a financial report released this week by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor. The numbers show that the sheriff's office financial operations remain strong.

POLICE JURY NEW TERM BEGAN MONDAY

The Concordia Parish Police Jury began a new term during its first meeting of 2008 Monday night, welcomed one new member and re-elected officers.

SCHOOL BOARD TO FILL SUPERINTENDENT'S POST JANUARY 31

The Concordia Parish School Board will hire a new superintendent January 31 during a special meeting, the board decided during its regular meeting Thursday night.
