Funeral services for Herbert Orth, 62, of Vidalia were held at Vidalia United Methodist Church Friday, January 11, 2008, 1 p.m. with Rev. Berry Dennis officiating.

Burial followed at Rosetta Cemetery in Rosetta, MS, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Mr. Orth was born December 7, 1945, in Seigen, Germany, the son of Gertrude Orth Corson. He passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2008, in Vidalia.

He was the owner/broker of Herb Orth Real Estate. He was a graduate of Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, GA, and also served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and great-aunt, Hannah Orth.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen Orth of Vidalia; sons, Bradley Orth and wife, Becky, of Roanoke, VA, and Brett Orth and wife, Sabrina, of Vidalia; daughters, Shannon Parker and husband, Fred, and Becky Lipscomb and husband, Alan, all of Natchez; and grandsons, Sam Parker, Kyle Orth, Ryan Orth, Stacy Parker and John G. Patrick.

Pallbearers were Darwin Klar, Tommy Klar, T.A. Jackson III, Gary Morgan, Joe Evers and Roy Rushing.

Special thanks to Dr. Jack Rodriguez and staff, Dr. Roderick Givens and staff and Kathy Renfrow and Hospice Health of Vidalia.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
