Funeral services for Joseph Michael Stampley, 60, of Natchez were held Monday, January 14, 2008, at Vidalia Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating.

Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Stampley was born June 30, 1947 at Eglin Air Force Base, FL, to Walter L. and Lamathell Stampley. He passed away Friday, January 11, 2008, at his residence.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as a meteorologist for 12 years and was a member of the Vidalia Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother John Clark Stampley.

Survivors include his parents; daughters Jodi Stampley and Danielle Stampley, both of Vidalia; son Eric Stampley and wife, Stephanie, of Baton Rouge; sister Mary Evelyn Cupit of Vidalia; grandchildren Erika Brown and Cade Stampley.

Pallbearers were Julius Huhn, Henry Sugg, Jimmy Myers, Jerry Harrison, Donnie Melton and Jamie Jackson.
