After dropping their first District 7A East contest of the season, the Huntington School boys have won three straight, the latest a 51-47 win over Tallulah Friday in Ferriday.

"We're really coming together and playing better," said Hound coach David Boydstun. The higher we finish in our district, the better chance we have of making it to South State."

The Hounds jumped out to a 13-7 lead after one period and held a 26-19 advantage at halftime.

Huntington led 38-27 going into the final period before the Trojans made a run, coming up four points short.

Tyler Pere´ led Huntington with 20 points, while freshman Kevin Brown added 16. and Josh Lee 10.

Hunington's girls fell to Tallulah, 47-32.

Tallulah led 15-5 after one period and 27-12 at halftime.

Phyllicia Woods scored 15 points and collected 12 rebounds for the Lady Hounds.

The Huntington boys continued their winning ways Monday at Amite School Center in a non-district contest, defeating the Rebels, 68-54.

Huntington trailed 17-16 after one period before outscoring ASC 16-7 in the second quarter for a 32-24 advantage.

Huntington outscored Amite 36-30 in the second half.

Pere´ led Huntington with 23 points, while Brown added 14. Josh Guillory and Jody Cottongin netted nine each.

Huntington's girls fell to ASC, 48-44.

Huntington trailed 7-3 after one period before taking a 15-10 lead at halftime.

The Lady Hounds led 36-30 going into the final quarter before being outscored 18-8.

Woods led the Lady Hounds with 17 points.

Huntington hosts Franklin Academy Friday.
