Vidalia boys still perfect in district Vidalia High's boys improved to 3-0 in District 2-2A as the Vikings defeated Bolton, 60-49 in Alexandria Tuesday.
Vidalia jumped ahead of the Bears 16-9 in the third quarter and led 31-25 at halftime.
Vidalia outscored Bolton 14-11 in the third quarter and 15-13 in the final period.
Gary Stewart led the Vikings with 21 points, while Quartrell Thomas and Brandon Hawkins added 10 points each.
Vidalia's girls fell to Bolton, 42-37.
Bolton led 8-5 after one period and 20-19 at hafltime.
Vidalia took the lead in the third quarter, but the Lady Bears outscored the Lady Vikings 15-9 in the final quarter for the win.
Tyshica Rodgers led Vidalia with 13 points.with a 69-62 win over Avoyelles in Moreauville Friday.
After a first quarter which saw both teams scoring 24 points, Vidalia trailed Avoyelles 38-35 at halftime.
"We played better defense in the second half," said Vidalia coach Robert Sanders. "We were allowing a couple of their 3-point shooters to roam free in the first half."
Vidalia rallied in the second half, outscoring the Mustangs in both quarters for the win.
Gary Stewart led Vidalia with 19 points, while Quartrell Thomas added 15 and Brandon Hawkins 13.
"We're getting good balanced scoring and we need to continue to do that," Sanders said.
Vidalia's girls fell to Avoyelles by 20 points. Tyshica Rodgers led the Lady Vikings in scoring. |
