Gertrude Cross Burts Funeral services for Gertrude Cross Burts, 87, of Ferriday, were held Saturday, January 26, 2008, 1 p.m. at Young's Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating.
Burial followed at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Burts was born December 9, 1920, in Ferriday, the daughter of Hugh I. Cross and Lena Rabb Cross. She passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd M. Burts; her parents; three sisters, Inez Knight, Faye DeMoss and Myra McMillin; and three brothers, J.S. Cross, Howard Cross and Victor Cross.
Survivors include two sons, Hugh Burts and wife, Susan, of Natchez and Benny Burts and wife, Diane, of Baton Rouge; one granddaughter, Stephanie Moran and husband, Chris, of Ruston; two grandsons, Hugh "Bubba" Burts of Natchez and Thomas Allen Burts of Ferriday; two great-grandchildren, Blair Moran and Molly Ann Burts; and one brother, Hugh Ira Cross of Ferriday. |
