Clara Evans Smith Funeral services for Clara Evans Smith, 105, of Ferriday were held Tuesday, February 12, 2008, 10 a.m. at St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore with the Rev. L.B. Oliver officiating.
Burial followed at the National Cemetery in Natchez.
Ms. Smith was born December 15, 1902, in Sicily Island, the daughter of Matilda Evans. She passed away February 7, 2008, at Promise Specialty Hospital in Ferriday.
She was a retired housekeeper, member of the O.E.S. Star of Hope #96,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Smith, a WWI veteran, and all of her siblings.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Green; two daughters, Estelle Williams and Elizabeth Harbor all of Ferriday; 15 grandchildren; a number of great and great-great grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. |
