Monterey baseball falls to Harrisonburg

Monterey High's baseball team fell to Harrisonburg 7-4 Tuesday in Harrisonburg.

Harrisonburg pitcher Jacob Roark sturck out 16 Monterey batters in the contest.

"He is a tremendous pitcher," said Monterey coach Eric Richard.

The Wolves finished with four hits, singles by Austin Lipsey, Beau Shively, Taylor Campbell and Brian Caulkins. Jon Lipsey had a sacrifice fly.

"We looked like a Dixie Youth team the first five innings before we woke up," Richard said. "We haven't had time to get in a lot of reps and it showed."

Monterey faces Vidalia in the Cathedral High Tournament in Natchez Thursday.
