JUDGE DENIES MOTION ON TEENAGER'S CONFESSION

Judge Leo Boothe has denied a motion to suppress two confessions given by accused murderer Conner Wood in the shooting deaths of his parents and a teenage friend.

FERRIDAY MAN SAYS OFFICER SLAMMED HIM TO GROUND

Richard Stewart said Tuesday that when he saw a Ferriday police car with its lights flashing and two armed policemen standing outside his business at 120 Louisiana Avenue that he felt safe to walk outside.

1966 END OF THE LINE FOR GIRLS OF MORVILLE

For Vera with the butterfly tattoo, and the other girls of Morville, mid-summer 1966 was the end of their working days in Concordia Parish.

ELECTION NEARS FOR MAYOR, POLICE CHIEF

Early voting continues through Saturday for two hotly-contested races in Concordia -- the mayor's race in Ferriday and the police chief's race in Vidalia. Some 134 early votes had been recorded by noon today (Wednesday).

DRAINAGE ISSUES DISCUSSED AT POLICE JURY MEETING

The Concordia Parish Police Jury agreed Monday night to continue to search for solutions to drainage problems after a home and church were flooded last week. A storm system moved through the parish last Thursday and Friday dumping from two to four inches of rain.
