Monterey ends year at Rapides
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Monterey's High boys basketball team ended its season against the team many believe will cruise to the Class B state championship as Rapides High disposed of the Wolves, 87-34 Friday in Alexandria.

Rapides improved to 35-3 while Monterey ends its season at 6-28.

Rapides dominated the boards, outrebouding the Wolves by a 19-4 margin.

Rapides led by as many as 20 points in the first quarter and extended that lead to 40 late in the second quarter.

Monterey swept Forest in district play to qualify for the playoffs.
