Huntington's Pere named to first team Huntington senior forward Tyler Pere´ was named to the MPSA District 6A All-District first team.
Senior guard Jody Cottongin was named to the second team, while Kevin Brown and Josh Guillory were named as honorable mentions.
Senior fowards Phyllicia Woods and Donna Tarver were named to the girls second team.
Mary Miller Ratcliff, Kaitlen Emfinger and Hunter Hale of Tensas were named to the first team, while Tensas' Jordan Leake was named to the second team.
Phillip Carpenter and Bennett Schauf of Tensas were named as honorable mentions.
Jay Perkins of Riverdale Academy was named boys MVP, while Riverdale's Steve Weir was named Coach of the Year.
Claiborne's Morgan Simpson and Tallulah's Mary Beth Givens were named co-MVPs for the girls, while Claiborne's Jennifer Simpson was named Coach of the Year.
Huntington's boys and girls lost out at the district tournament in Riverdale.
Franklin Academy's boys and Tensas' girls advanced to the state tournament. |
