Altha E. Floyd Funeral services for Altha E. Floyd, 70, of Ferriday, formerly of Natchez, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 29, 2008, at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Crosby officiating.
Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Floyd was born April 20, 1937, in Crosby, MS, the daughter of James H. and Hazel D. Etheridge. She passed away Monday, February 25, 2008, in Jackson, MS.
Mrs. Floyd had been a resident of Ferriday for 15 years, formerly of Natchez. She was a Methodist and was named Amite Forestry Queen in 1953. She worked in the Accounting Department of Delta Bank for 20 years, where she retired in December 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Jake Floyd Jr.; one son, Jake Floyd III of Ocean Springs, MS; two daughters, Altha Belinda Klar of Crosby and Julia Fay Bertrand of Bossier City; three brothers, Elwyn Etheridge of Jackson, Sonny Etheridge of Warner Robbins, GA, and David Etheridge of Zachary; five sisters, Inez Bell of Gloster, MS, Shirley Crosby of Shreveport, Sandra Couvillion of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Gwen Etheridge and Carolyn Shell, both of Jackson; four grandchildren, Brian Christopher Harrell, Allison Seth, Shelby Rosales, all of Bossier City and Ron Novak of Natchez; and three great-grandchildren, Sebastian Seth, Benny Seth and Brianna Harrell.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Etheridge, Benny Bell, Willie Bell, Tommy Klar, Leland Rymer and Randy Hazlip. |
