Irene Parker Funeral services for Irene Parker, 74, of Vidalia, were held today, Wednesday, March 5, 2008, 11 a.m. at Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou with Brother Gary Howington and the Rev. George Guy officiating.
Burial followed at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Parker was born June 1, 1933, in Gilbert, the daughter of Ruth and Homer Hodges. She passed away Monday, March 3, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital.
She was a resident of Vidalia, a homemaker, worked in retail sales and was a member of the Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou.
Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Eugene "J.E." Parker; her parents; and son, Michael Henry Parker.
Survivors include son, Gene Parker and wife, Rasty, of Denham Springs; sisters, Lillian Hayes and husband, Curt, of Meadville, MS, and Shirley Looper of Stuttgart, AR; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Curtley Hayes Jr., Jonathan Landrum, George Hayes, Donnie Wilson, Jody Perrault and the Rev. Guy Looper.
Honorary pallbearers were the Rev. Homer Looper and Chauncey Fonville. |
