Vidalia Lady Vikings go 2-1 at tournament

Vidalia High's Lady Vikings went 2-1 at the Mangham Tournament Saturday.

Vidalia defeated Warren Central 5-2 in its first game before nipping Forest 2-1.

The Lady Vikings fell to LaSalle 5-2 in their final game of the tournament.

"I was very proud that we won our pool, but still disappointed in the loss against LaSalle," said Vidalia coach Jeanne Hall. " I just wished we would've played

them a better ball game."

Against Warren Central, Alaina Burns and Kassi Randall had two hits each to lead the Lady Vikings.

Against Forest, Chelsie McElwee, Chelsea Warren, Randall and Tori Lemoine each singled.

Brittany Whittington picked up the win in both contests.

In the loss to LaSalle, Mary Katherine Golden doubled for Vidalia.

"It's hard to beat a team like LaSalle with five defensive errors," Hall said. "They hit the ball and we made too many errors. We didn't hit very well either."

Vidalia plays at Bolton Thursday.
