TWO CURRENT, THREE FORMER FERRIDAY POLICE OFFICERS INDICTED

Two current and three former Ferriday police officers, including the former police chief, were indicted by a Concordia Parish Grand Jury on Monday for 16 offenses, according to Dist. Atty. John Johnson.

LEGISLATURE APPROVES $6 MILLION FOR HWY. 84

State Sen. Neil Riser said a $6-million infusion of cash will help kick off work on improvements to U.S. Highway 84, known nationally as the "El Camino Corridor."

SCHOOL BOARD APPOINTS TWO, APPROVES BATHROOM RENOVATIONS

The Concordia Parish School Board accepted the low bid for the first phase of school bathroom renovations parishwide and made two appointments during its regular meeting Thursday night. Patty Bellis was named Director of Federal Programs and Debbie Bairnsfather was appointed Supervisor of Child Nutrition.

MCGLOTHIN VIEWS NEXT TERM AS FERRIDAY MAYOR

Mayor-elect Glen McGlothin told Ferriday Chamber members Tuesday to disregard any rumors that there is any animosity between him and current Mayor Gene Allen, who McGlothin beat by 31 votes in the general election earlier this month.
