Casey W. Smith
Funeral services for Casey W. Smith, 34, of Ferriday, were held today, Wednesday, March 19, 2008, 2 p.m. at Young's Funeral Home with the Rev. Mack Walker officiating.
Burial followed at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Smith was born November 22, 1973, in Metairie and passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008, in Houston, TX.
Mr. Smith worked for International Fire & Safety. He served in the U. S. Navy on the USS Pugent Sound. He trained in Orlando, FL, and was stationed in Norfolk, VA.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Thelma Brubaker; step-grandfather, Wallace Walker Brubaker; and half-sister, Micah Scott.
Survivors include his mother, Diann Hutcherson of Vidalia; one sister, Jessica "Charlie" LaBlanc of Vidalia; paternal grandparents, Charles and Georgia Smith, of Vidalia; maternal grandfather, William D. Hutcherson Jr. and wife, Mary Ann, of Brookhaven, MS; two sons, Walker L. and Zachery H. Smith, both of Vidalia; one daughter, Isabella G. Smith of Vidalia; one uncle, William "Bubba" Hutcherson III of Vidalia; numerous cousins, Athena, Will, Alicia Hutcherson and Josh Shelton; and best friend, Irby Campbell.
Pallbearers were Tyler Blalock, Thad Campbell, Irby Campbell, Will Hutcherson IV, Danny Murell, Tapper Hendricks and Shawn Perry.
