Tennessee, Upchurch named MVPs Ferriday High senior Montrell Tennessee and junior Jasmine Upchurch
were named most valuable players of District 2-2A.
Tennessee was also named honorable mention on the Class 2A All-State
Basketball team.
Ferriday boys coach K. G. Watkins was named Coach of the Year in 2-2A
after leading the Trojans to the Class 2A state championship game,
while Lady Trojan coach Lisa Abron shared Coach of the Year honors with
Theodore Lane of Lake Providence.
Joining Tennessee on the boys team were seniors Matthew Smith and Josh
Upchurch.
Honorable mentions were Levier Pryor and Alrion McKeel.
Freshman Chante Poole joined Jasmine Upchurch on the girls first team.
Junior Jalessia Davis and sophomore Jasmine Butler were named to the
second team.
Deonka Birdon was named as an honorable mention. |
