Darwin S. Enlow Sr. Funeral services for Darwin S. Enlow Sr., 86, of Monterey were held Tuesday, March 25, 2008, 10 a.m. at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Curtis Lambright officiating.
Burial followed at White Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Mr. Enlow was born March 10, 1922, in Lismore, the son of Jessie McCormick and Ramoth Enlow. He passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Riverland Medical Center.
He was a resident of Monterey and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a beloved father and grandfather and was respected by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clinton Enlow, James Enlow and Malcolm Enlow; and two sisters, Thelma Girlinghouse and Melba White.
Survivors include one son, Darwin S. Enlow Jr. and wife, Martha, of Rosehill, KA; three daughters, Ethel Lambright and husband, Curtis, and Dolly Simpson and husband, Clifford, all of Monterey, and Ramoth Thompson and husband, Wayne, of Natchez; 12 grandchildren, Mack, Clinton and Elizabeth Enlow, Bryan and Brad Adams, Tiffany Ford, Richard, Greg, Tyler and Jesse Thompson, Clifford Simpson Jr. and Steven Simpson; seven great-grandchildren, Laban Ford, Carlie Adams, Drew Thompson, Mallory Simpson, Haze and Gage Copeland and Sage York; two nieces, Ethel Allen of Monterey and Brenda Jones of Chattanooga, TN; and two nephews, James and Donnie Enlow.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Bryan Adams, Brad Adams, Clinton Enlow, Greg Thompson, Jesse Thompson, Richard Thompson, Clifford Simpson Jr. and Steven Simpson.
Honorary pallbearers were Tyler Thompson, James Enlow, Donnie Enlow and Mack Enlow.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. |
