Lady Vikings down Bolton Vidalia High's Lady Vikings cruised to a 10-0 win over Bolton High Tuesday at Vidalia.
Brittany Whittington shut down the Lady Bear offense for the win..
Vidalia left two runners stranded in the first inning after Kassi Randall singled, stoled second and Eryn Secrest walked.
Vidalia got a run in the second as Chelsea Warren, who made a nice running catch in the top of the inning, was hit by a pitch, Mary Katherine Golden walked and Whittington singled.
Vidalia added three runs in the third as Secrest, Alaina Burns and Katlyn Wilson walked and Warren and Golden reached on errors.
Vidalia led 9-0 after four innings and ended the game with a run in the fifth.
Vidalia hosts Bunkie Thursday in a key district contest.
Vidalia fell to Avoyelles 4-3, scoring the winning run in the ninth inning on Monday.
"We made too many defensive, pitching and mental mistakes and just didn't play ball," said Vidalia coach Jeannie Hall.
Chelsie McElwee was 3-for-4, Kassi Randall was 2-for-4, Chelsea Warren was 2-for-4 and Katlyn Wilson was 2-for-3.
Avoyelles had 7 hits and 3 defensive errors. |
