Lady Hound Fab 5 tie for title Huntington girls track coach Penny Moak only had five participants for the Kramer Fife Relays at Adams County Christian School on March 26, but it was enough to tie with Wilkinson County Christian Academy for top honors in the meet.
The Lady Hounds won the mile relay in the final event of the meet to tie WCCA with 60 points.
Tensas Academy was third at 25, while ACCS came in fourth at 18. Tallulah was fifth with eight points while Trinity had three points.
Abi Brown paced the Lady Hounds with first place finishes in the 300-hurdles (48.65), 100-hurdles (16.75) and 400-meter dash (1:04.06).
Amberlee Collard won the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.91 and was first in the 200-dash at 28.28. She placed third in the shotput with a toss of 27 feet, 8 inches.
Donna Tarver placed third in the discuss with a throw of 72 feet. Tarver was fifth in the 3200-run with a time of 16:59.
Julie Moak placed fourth in the 300-hurdles at 59.2 and fourth in the 100-hurdles.
Natalie Tarver was third in the 800-run with a time of 2:57.
The relay team of Moak, Natalie Tarver, Collard and Brown placed second in the 800-relay (1:59/05), first in the 400-relay (55.47) and first in the 1600-relay at 4:45.
For the boys, Chris Carroll was second in the shot put with a toss of 40 feet, 4 inches.
Dude Harrell was third in the discus with a toss of 99 feet, 6 inches and also placed third in the 300-hurdles.
The relay team of Jody Cottongin, Joey Roberts, Tyler Pere´ and Andreas Swanson placed second in the 400-relays. |
