John T. Vestal Graveside services for John T. Vestal, 92, of Roxie, MS, formerly of Clayton, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton with the Revs. Denny Braswell and Roy Kendricks officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Vestal was born September 22, 1915, in Yell County, AR, the son of Marvin and Pearl Ann Vestal. He passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in Natchez.
He was a retired cattleman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma Martin Vestal; one daughter, Barbara Vestal Knapp; and two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include four sons, John Wayne Vestal of Baton Rouge, Ronald Neil Vestal of Sam Rayburn, TX, Tommy Martin Vestal of Church Point, and Joseph Russell Vestal of Houma; four daughters, Latoya Vestal Welch of West Monroe, Linda Vestal Black of Newellton, Lou Ann Vestal Cosper of Clayton and Lisa Vestal Wimberly of Roxie; one brother, Dale Vestal of Vidalia; two sisters, Margaret Shupe and Betty Verruchi, both of Natchez; and 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Greg Welch, Pat Welch, Brian Black, Brad Black, Ryan Vestal, Zach Cosper, Tom Fletcher Wimberly and T.J. Vestal.
Honorary pallbearer will be Abe Warren. |
