Funeral services for Zachary Douglas Washington, 30, of Waterproof were held Saturday, April 12, 2008, 1 p.m. at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in Waterproof with the Rev. Mack Stokes officiating.

Burial followed at Good Samaritan Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Washington was born April 14, 1977, in Newellton, the son of Henry Savage and Leola Washington. He died Saturday, April 5, 2008, from an accidental drowning in Waterproof.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother; nine brothers, Orlando Washington, Matthew Washington, Darian Washington, all of Marietta, GA, Dexter Washington of Kinder, Imari Washington of Waterproof, Jeffery Harris of Ferriday, Alfred Davis of Forrest Park, GA, Henry Savage Jr. and Gary Savage, both of Oakland, CA; 11 sisters, Rhonda Washington, Debra Washington, Erika Washington, Kizzy Washington, Shantell Washington and Kendra Barece, all of Atlanta, Sophia Washington of Waterproof, Glenda Davis of Clayton, Carol Williams of Houston, and Faye Savage and Peaches Savage, both of Oakland; two aunts, Celoa Washington and Rosie Washington, both of New Orleans; three uncles, Wash Henry of Atlanta, Emile Washington and Jerry Washington, both of New Orleans; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
