Shirley Mae Watkins Read Graveside services for Shirley Mae Watkins Read, 69, of Ferriday were held today, Wednesday, April 16, 2008, 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery with Myrtis Danzler officiating.
Burial followed under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Read was born November 16, 1938, in Harrisonburg, the daughter of Henry Ezell and Bertha Elizabeth Scruggs Watkins.
She passed away at Riverland Medical Center on April 14, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Terry Stephens; one brother, Sherman Watkins; and one sister, Doris Watkins.
Survivors include a daughter, Anne Hardy and husband, Johnny; a son, Dewayne Stephens and wife, Lisa; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Hardy and fiance' Marvin Beamer, Robert Hardy, Bill Walls, Daniel Stephens, Terry Stephens and wife, Jessica, Josh Stephens and Erika Stephens; four great-grandchildren, Tyrone Griffin Jr., Tyus Griffin, Arianna Hardy and Haylee Hardy; two brothers, Gene Watkins and Glenn Watkins; three sisters, Marie Brown, Leda Moore and Elvia Faulkner; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. |
