Huntington track third at Simpson

Huntington's track team prepped for the district meet being held in Rayville today (Wednesday) by finishing third at the Simpson Academy Meet.

Silliman won with 56, followed by Simpson with 55. Huntington and WCCA tied for 3rd with 31 each. 

Other teams competing were Trinity, Oak Forest, Centreville, Amite School Center, ACCS and Alpha Christian.

Abi Brown continued her winning ways by taking first in the 300-hurdles (47.79.2), capturing the 100-hurdles at 15.60.2 and was second in the 400-dash at 1:02.45.

Amberlee Collard placed third in the shot with a throw of 27' 7.5", fourth in the 100-dash with a 13.42, and was fourth in the 200-dash with a 27.5.   

Phyllicia was fifth in the 100-dash with a 13.59. The 800-meter relay team of Julie Moak, Collard, Woods, and Brown finished fourth with a time 1:54.65.

Moak, Collard, Woods, and Brown were third in the 400-relay with a time of 53.35 and fourth in the 1600-relay with a 4:47.43.

Huntington's girls were second to WCCA at district. ABi Brown had three first place finishes.
