Jimmy Clyde Whitehead Funeral services for Jimmy Clyde "Gar" Whitehead, 65, of Natchez were held Friday, April 18, 2008, 11 a.m. at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. John Pace Jr. officiating.
Burial followed at Roxie Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Whitehead was born September 30, 1942, in Roxie, MS, the son of L.J. Jr. and Evelyn Jackson Whitehead. He passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Central Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness.
He was a tool pusher for Odeco Oil Company for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Linda Whitehead.
Survivors include his daughter, Katrina Brunson and husband, Steve, of Byram, MS; two granddaughters, Taylor Brunson and Kalyn Owen; one grandson, Codie Owen; one stepdaughter, Robbie Owen of Monroe; two sisters, Sylvia Watts of Raymond, MS, and Terrie Shroyer of Birmingham, AL; three brothers, Herbert Whitehead of Lake St. John, John Whitehead of Destin, FL, and Paul Whitehead of Natchez; a number of cousins including Malcolm Whitehead of Natchez ; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Steve Brunson, Malcolm Whitehead, Leslie Wallace Jr., Codie Owen, Tony Braswell and Ronnie Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers were Shelby Watts and Dr. Duane Shroyer. |
