Sentinel wins 14 LPA awards
The Concordia Sentinel won 14 awards in Lafayette on Saturday during the annual Louisiana Better Newspaper Contest sponsored by the Louisiana Press Association.
The Sentinel was awarded two 1st place awards, three 2nd places, seven 3rd places and two honorable mentions.
Tracey Bruce won a 1st place for Best Sports Photo and Barbara Jackson was awarded a 1st place for Best Services Ad-Non Retail. Jackson also won one 2nd place awards for In-Paper Promotion, Black and White, two 3rd place awards for Best Ad Campaign and In-Paper Promotion, Black and White; and one honorable mention for Staff-Generated-Color, 1/2 Page or Under.
The Sentinel received 2nd place and an honorable mention for Best Single Editorial, a 2nd place for Best Overall Sports Coverage and 3rd place awards for Best Sports Story by Joey Martin, Best Sports Column by Martin, Best Front Page, Best News Coverage and Best Investigative Reporting. |
