Funeral services for Marjorie White "MeMe" Book, 81, of Jonesville were held Thursday, May 1, 2008, 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Jonesville with the Rev. Lloyd Trisler and the Rev. Junior Trisler officiating.

Burial followed at Pease Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Mrs. Book was born January 3, 1927, in Simmsport, the daughter of Walter Sutton White and Effie Paulk White. She passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in Alexandria.

She was an accomplished businesswoman. She owned and operated three businesses in her lifetime, Margie's Beauty Shop, W.S. White Fisheries and A Flower Garden & Gift Shoppe. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nasif C. Book; her parents; and four brothers, Walter E. White, Archie Lloyd White, Herman Ray White and Jack T. White.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Book Taylor, Nelwyn Book Crouch and husband, Larry, all of Jonesville, and Donna Book Bailey and husband, Billy, of Dry Prong; three brothers, H.C. White, Carvel White and Jimmy White; one sister, Shirley White Gann; six grandchildren, Nancy Alicia Yrle and husband, Bill, Lillian Michelle Sturgeon and husband, James, Larry Owen Crouch and wife, Laurel, Michael Authur "Matt" Taylor and wife, Chasta, Ben Brossette and Colette Brossette; and six great-grandchildren, Craig and Brent Yrle, Sam Sturgeon, Macy and Ryan Taylor and Jimmy Crouch.

Pallbearers were Matt Taylor, Larry Crouch, Ty White, Cory Paulk, Charlie Duck, Kurt Barinsfather, Tim White and Henry Arthur Taliaferro.

Honorary pallbearers were nephews, Ben Broussette, Topper Wiley and Robert Wiley.
