Vidalia High's softball team handed out awards during a ceremony Friday.

Senior shortstop Chelsie McElwee was named MVP of the team.

McElwee was also presented the Captain's Award.

The highest batting average and most RBIs award went to Kassi Randall, who batted .468 with a .597 slugging percentage and a team-high 18 runs batted in.

The Viking Award went to junior Sydney Guidroz.

Junior Chelsea Warren won the Most Stolen Bases Award with 24.

The Coaches Award went to senior Tori Lemoine, junior Katlyn Wilson, junior Shelby Zimmerman and freshman Julie White.

The Highest Grade Point Average Award was presented to Sydney Guidroz.

Lady Vikings named to the District 3-3A first team were Kassi Randall at first base, Chelsie McElwee at shortstop, Mary Katherine Golden as catcher, pitcher Brittany Whittington and outfielder Chelsea Warren.

Named to the second team was junior pitcher Shelby Zimmerman.

Honorable mentions were Alaina Burns, Katlyn Wilson, senior Brittney Evans and sophomore Eryn Secrest.
