School Board views personnel, litigation The Concordia Parish School Board spent almost two hours in executive session Thursday night discussing personnel matters and pending litigation but took no action afterward.
During the open portion of the meeting, the aboard adopted the Concordia Parish Safety Handbook, and voted to rehire deputy Lee Ford as the School Resource Officer for 2008-09.
The board also approved a proposal for a temporary increase on a sliding scale for school bus drivers due to high fuel costs and approved a routine revision of its 2007-08 consolidated budget.
The board went into executive session to discuss a lawsuit -- Easterling v. Concordia Parish School Board, filed in the Western District of the U.S. District Court -- and also met behind closed doors with Kathy Banks Singleton and Minnie Turner.
Board President Gary Parnham said after the executive session that no action was required.
In other business, the board approved invoices for the month of April totaling $3.6 million.
