Huntington hands out awards Huntington School held its athletic banquet in the school gym Thursday.
In football, Jody Cottongin was named Offensive MVP.
Seth Swilley was named Best Offensive Lineman, while Cottongin was named Best Offensive Back.
The Defensive MVP Award went to Dude Harrell.
Harrell was also named Best Linebacker.
Chris Carroll was named Best Defensive Lineman.
The Best Defensive Back Award went to Chuck Bowie.
Josh Lee won the 110% Award.
The Most Improved Award went to Michael Dekerlegand.
Kevin Brown won the Coaches Award.
Andreas Swanson was named Offensive MVP for the junior varsity football team, while Holden Hill was named Defensive MVP. Tyler Spence won the 110 percent Award.
In Cross Country, Anthony Olds was named Most Outstanding Runner for the boys, while Katie Gray was named Most Outstanding Runner for the girls.
In girls basketball, Phyllicia Woods was named Best Offensive Player.
Donna Tarver won Best Rebounder.
The Hustler Award went to Julie Moak, while Amberlee Collard won the Coach's Award.
Abbey Ashmore was named Best Offensive Player for the junior varsity team. Allie Boothe won Best Rebounder, Natalie Tarver Hustler Award and Brookelyn May the Coach's Award.
Tyler Pere´ received the MVP Award for the boys basketball team.
Drew Loomis won the Coach's Award.
Matt Swilley was named Most Improved.
Anthony Olds won Best Offense for the boys junior varsity team, while Levi Brown won named Best Defense Award.
In boys track, Chris Carroll was named Most Outstanding in Field, while Drew Loomis won Outstanding Track.
In girls track, Amberlee Collard and Abi Brown were named Most Outstanding Runner. Amerlee Collard won Most Outstanding Field and Donna Tarver won the Coach's Award.
Natalie Tarver was named Most Outstanding Runner in junior varsity, while Cori Lyn Anselmi won the Coach's Award.
In golf, Patrick McIntosh won Low Medalist.
Lacy Willard won the Frederic Johnson Award.
Julie Moak and Seth Swilley were honored as Class A State runners-up in mixed doubles. Also honored as South State runners-up was the Lady Hound team of Emilee Johns, Lacey Willard, Julia Corbett, Sara Hoover, Abbey Ashmore, Allie Boot and Julie Moak. Ashmore and Boothe were honored as No. 2 girls doubles MPSA South State runners-up.
In baseball, Joey Roberts was named MVP.
The Highest Batting Average Award went to Josh Lee. Tyler Pere´ won Most Improved.
The Coaches Award went to Jody Cottongin, Roger Merrill and Landon Willard. The junior varsity Highest Batting Average Award went to Blaine Fletcher. |
