Leola Dishmon
Funeral services for Leola Dishmon, 89, of Ferriday were held Tuesday, May 20, 2008, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.
Burial followed at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
She was born May 6, 1919, in Ferriday, the daughter of Louis and Carrie Pettiway Smith. She passed away May 15, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Dishmon; a son, Louis Dishmon; and a daughter, Carrie Johnson.
Survivors include one son, William Dishmon and his wife Frances, of Ferriday; a son-in-law, Sim Johnson of Conyers, GA; an adopted daughter, Annie Jackson of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Andrea Sears of Duluth, GA, Nicole D. Carter, Quinna Dishmon, Stacey Thomas and Angela Thomas, all of Denver, CO; a number of other grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. |
