Herman Huey Watkins Graveside services for Mr. Herman Huey Watkins, 86, of Vidalia were held at National Cemetery in Natchez Friday, May 23, 2008, 2 p.m. under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Vidalia.
Mr. Watkins was born May 13, 1922, in Carthage, MS, the son of Earl and Zella Watkins. He passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson, MS.
He was a resident of Vidalia, a police officer and of the Baptist faith. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pearl Watkins; wife, Bernice Watkins; brother, Brady Watkins; and sister, Agnes Sykes.
Survivors include a son, David Watkins and wife, Billie, of Hendersonville, TN; daughter, Donna Banks and husband, Roosevelt, of Long Beach, CA; brother, Mott Watkins of Mississippi; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. |
