Funeral services for Charles Lane Bryant, Sr., 70, of Alvin, TX, were held Friday, June 6, 2008, at Scott Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Streeter officiating.

Burial followed at Conferederate Cemetery in Alvin.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Scott Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Bryant was born November 11, 1937, and passed away Monday, June 2, 2008 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

He was a resident of Alvin for 30 years. He was a foreman in the petroleum business and a member of the Baptist faith. He was a member of V.F.W. and served in the United States Marine Corps. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Bentley and Ruby Bryant and sister, Fay Bryant.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Bryant of Alvin; daughter, Sharon Weinberg of Alvin; son, Charles Bryant, Jr. of Alvin; sister, Candy Holland and husband, Shan, of Pierre Part, LA; brother, Benny Ray Bryant and wife, Ann, of Radcliff, KY; three grandchildren, Jerrilynn Weinberg, Jack Weinberg, Chance Weinberg; numerous other relatives and friends.
