Edwards-McKey win Flag Tournament Mary Edwards and Julia McKey teamed up to shoot a 68 to win the Ladies Flag Day Golf Tournament at Panola Wood on June 11.
Twenty-seven teams competed in the tournament, the largest number in several years.
Sandra Smith and Sandy Renner finished one stroke behind with a 69, while Stacy LaPrairie and Diane Valentine shot a 72 to finish third.
Florene Bonner and Marilyn Campbell won the first flight with a 75.
Finishing second by scorecard playoff, also with a 75, was the team of Gay Book and Kay Thompson.
Nina Wagoner and Jeannette Guilliams were third at 76.
Capturing the second flight with a score of 82 was the team of Mary Lou House and Sheila Bedenbender. Barbara Reitzell and Karen Cruse were second at 82, while Beth Smith and Linda Wells placed third, also with an 82.
Gena Dickenson and Mildred House won the third flight wtih an 86 score, while Shelly Jones and Suzanne Chandler were second at 88 and Connie Kegerreis and Mary May were third at 89.
Cathy Hinson and Florene Bonner were closest to the hole winners, while Patricia Warren and Suzanne Chandler were longest drive winners.
The Senior 4-Ball will be held this weekend.
The annual Budweiser 4-Ball Tournament is scheduled for next month.
The 4-ball scramble will be held on July 18, while the 4-Ball Tournament is July 19-20. |
