Funeral services for Mr. Leon Horace Dyer, 86, of Monroe formerly of Vidalia, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008, at Bethel Baptist Church in Holly Ridge with Rev. Keith Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mr. Dyer passed away Tuesday, July 08, 2008, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was a carpenter/building contractor and A&W franchise owner in Vidalia for thirty-seven years.

Mr. Dyer was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Beard Dyer; and second wife, Lea McDonald Dyer.

Survivors include his sons, Ross Dyer and wife Anne of Vidalia, and Allan Dyer and wife Linda of Springhill, TN; stepsons, former Representative Charles R. McDonald and wife Patsy, and Donnie McDonald and wife Judy; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
