Holiday Inn leases property for new hotel
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Vidalia Mayor Hyram Copeland said an El Dorado, Ark., company has leased three acres of property on the Vidalia riverfront and should begin construction of a 105-room Holiday Inn this fall.

"We went to El Dorado last week and met with Dr. (Shailesh) Vora, the builder and owner," said Copeland. "We're excited about this. It's going to a good project with all of the conventions and conferences set in this region and will be an asset."

The hotel will include a restaurant and a lounge on the top floor of the three-story building, where patrons will have a view of the Mississippi River.

The new facility will be located on the south side of the Promise Specialty Hospital, now under construction.
