Vidalia Police Department seeks kidnapping suspect

The Vidalia Police Department has issued warrants for a 30-year-old Ferriday man who is accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend Monday, July 28.

The suspect is Kerry Lionel Brooks Sr., 163 Abraham Lane. He is described as a black male, 5-ft., 11-in. tall, weighing 155 pounds. He is said to have family in the Ferriday area.

The victim was allegedly abducted at a Vidalia convenience store. Brooks reportedly grabbed her, threw her over his shoulder, threw her in his vehicle and traveled to Montgomery Square in Ferriday with Vidalia police units in pursuit.

The suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The kidnapping victim sustained minor bruising in the incident, but was otherwise unharmed physically.
