IN TODAY'S SENTINEL -- WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13, 2008 • $275,000 BOND SET FOR ACCUSED IN MURDER
Bond for 19-year-old Crystal M. Gordon of 114 Brook Street, Ferriday -- accused of fatality stabbing her boyfriend Alex Promise Jr. with a kitchen knife on Sunday -- was set at $275,000 this morning (Wednesday) by Judge Leo Boothe in Seventh Judicial District Court.
• FERRIDAY DOWNTOWN PROJECT ON GO
Ferriday Mayor Glen McGlothin told town council members Tuesday that work on the downtown project should begin around the first of the year.
• MAIN STREET DIRECTOR ADVISES FERRIDAY ON BECOMING MEMBER
On Wednesday, August 6, the Director of the Louisiana Main Street Program, Ray Scriber, advised members and guests of the Downtown Revitalization Foundation that Ferriday had a great chance of becoming the next Main Street member, but that it would take a major effort by the whole community.

Louisiana Secretary of State attorney Steve Hawkland asked the Concordia Parish Police Jury to file paperwork detailing the completion of various minor items related to making all polling places handicapped accessible. |
