Graveside services for Charles Ned Porter Sr., 82, of Natchez, who died Friday, August 15, 2008, at his residence were held Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 11 a.m., at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Trent Bilbo officiating.

Burial followed under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Porter was born September 24, 1925, in Meadville, MS, the son of Leon and Pearl Gammill Porter.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Faye Scott.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Hunt Porter of Natchez; three daughters, Sandra Porter Tumminello and her husband, Skippy, of Ferriday, Angela Porter Hinson and her husband, Ted, of Brandon, MS, Jan Porter Lowe of Natchez; one son, Charles "Chuck" Porter Jr., and his wife Veronica of Newberry, S.C.; one sister, Eulila Stroud of Natchez; 12 grandchildren, Skip Tumminello Jr., of Monroe, Michael Tumminello and wife Carlin, of New Orleans, Ashleigh Simonton and her husband, Russ, of Hattiesburg, MS, Jennifer Perry of Ridgeland, MS, Jamie Perry of Chicago, IL, Caroline Lowe, Kelsey Lowe and Lindsay Lowe, all of Natchez, Stacee McCurdy and her husband, Matt, of Morton, MS, Whitney Porter of Vidalia, Dylan Porter and Sienna Porter, both of Newberry; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren and Cori Tumminello, Sydney Tumminello, Corban Simonton, Cade, Ainslee and Aylah McCurdy.

Pallbearers were Skip Tumminello Jr., Michael Tumminello, Russ Simonton, Jamie Perry, Matt McCurdy and Daniel Hollowell.

The family of Mr. Porter would like to give special thanks to Deaconess Home Health and Hospice Ministries.
