Early voting in Republican primary slated Early voting in the Republican Primary election for Fifth District Congressman is slated for Saturday, August 23, through Saturday, August 30, according to Registrar of Voters Golda Ensminger.
Only Republicans can cast ballots during early voting and in the election slated for September 6.
That election pits incumbent Rodney Alexander of Quitman against Andrew Clack of Rayville.
Early voting hours at the registrar's office will be from 8;30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Ensminger said hours may be extended until 6 p.m. pending U.S. Justice Department approval.
"Anybody planning to early vote after 4:30 p.m. should call first to make sure we were allowed to extend our hours," said Ensminger.
Those early voting will be asked to submit a Louisiana Driver's License, a Louisiana special identification card or a generally recognized picture card that contains name, address and signature of voter.
