Story Archives: Bus drivers offered Fuelman cards

Bus drivers offered Fuelman cards
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
The Concordia Parish School Board gave bus drivers the option to use Fuelman cards for fuel purchases with stipulations during its regular monthly meeting Thursday night.

The board action was based on a recommendation by the Transportation Committee that bus drivers be given the option to use Fuelman cards to "purchase fuel for their buses and that the local fuel scale is to remain at the 1.75 and 2.0 rate that was implemented during the months of April and May."

This board agreed to review the rate on yearly basis.

During a committee meeting with contract bus drivers, the following issues were discussed:

• Each bus would be issued a Fuelman vehicle card.

• Each driver would be issued a personal pin number that will verify the purchase and the usage of the card, vehicle, and location of transaction.

• At fill-up, the vehicle card and pin would be used. Odometer reading will be requested at the transaction.

• A receipt would be given for each transaction. The receipts are to be turned in to the CPSB Transportation Department on or before the 10th of each month.

• The amount of gas purchase will be deducted from the drivers next monthly payroll check.

In other business, the Board approved the payment of invoices for the month of July totaling $4,410,498, approved an updated personnel evaluation guide and approved Beverly Metcalfe as school resource officer for Vidalia schools.

The board also went into executive session to discuss a legal matter.

In personnel matters, the board approved the following:
