An argument apparently led to the stabbing death of a Ferriday man by his step-grandson Sunday in Ferriday.

Forty-two-year-old Gregory Conner was stabbed once in the left side of his chest by his 14-year-old stepgrandson at 320 Iowa Street, according to Ferriday police.

Investigator Johnny Evans said Conner was transported to Riverland Medical Center where he died later that night.

The incident happened around 7:20 p.m.

Evans said the teenager is being held at St. James Parish Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.
