Lady Hounds fall to AC, Franklin Huntington's Lady Hounds battled Adams County Christian School before falling to the Lady Rebels 6-2 Monday in Natchez.
Huntington trailed 3-2 going into the bottom of the fifth inning before the Lady Rebels added more runs to keep the Lady Hounds without a win.
"We're just not hitting the ball," said Huntington coach Penny Moak. "We're getting better defensively, even though we're still making errors. At least we're showing improvement. It all comes down to the tournament at the end of the year, so that's the good part."
Katie Hester's double in the first inning staked AC to a 2-0 lead.
That was about all Vidalia High transfer Mary Sanders needed in recording her first win at ACCS.
Sanders held the Lady Hounds to two hits while striking out six and scattering four walks as she went all six innings to pick up the win. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate.
Huntington struggled at the plate with a 10-0 loss to Franklin Academy Thursday in Winnsboro.
Franklin scored three runs in the second inning and added four in the fourth.
Julie Moak struck out two over four innings for the Lady Hounds.
Huntington's game at Trinity Episcopal Tuesday was rained out. The Lady Hounds will compete in the River Oaks Tournament in Monroe Saturday. |
