Maxwell requests no recreational boating in Concordia With area lake levels climbing higher and higher with each rainfall this week, Sheriff Randy Maxwell today (Thursday) requested that area residents refrain from recreational boating through the weekend.
"Any boating or use of jet skis can cause problems for people and structures on shore at this point," stressed Maxwell.
"We're asking everyone to please not get out on their boats or jet skis until the lakes return to a normal level."
Since Hurricane Gustave roared through the Concordia, it's estimated that the parish has been pelted with approximately 14 to 15 inches of rain. |
