Huntington visits Franklin Huntington School makes the short trip to Winnsboro Friday as the Hounds take on Franklin Academy in an MPSA District 6-A contest.
The Hounds (3-2) are 2-0 in district play.
Franklin brings a 2-2 overall record into the contest, posting a 1-2 district mark.
"They are a lot better coached than they have been in the past," said Huntington coach Chad Harkins. "They are much better organized. They have a tall receiver and some good athletes carrying the ball."
Harkins said his team needs to continue improving each week.
"We have to keep working hard and do the things we do better," he said. "This is another stepping stone for us to play for a district championship."
Franklin fell to Wilkinson County Christian Academy 22-6 last week.
"We have to quit turning the ball over," said Franklin coach Keith Tincknell. "We haven't won the battle of turnovers yet this season."
The first-year Franklin coach is impressed with Huntington's speed.
"They are very explosive," he said. "We cannot turn the ball over and we need to keep it out of their hands and keep them off the field as much as possible." |
