Huntington routs Cenla Huntington School took care of business in a game they were heavy favorites, routing Cenla Christian, 51-8 in Pineville.
"The kids came in and took care of business," said Huntington coach Chad Harkins.
The Hounds improved to 3-2 with the win adn 2-0 in MPSA District 6-A play.
"The guys are getting more confidence and playing better together," Harkins said. "We're improving in a lot of areas. It's real important for us to get better each week because each week we'll be facing tougher challenges."
Huntington's only score of the first quarter came on a 23-yard TD run by Jeremy Randall. Kevin Brown ran in the conversion.
Randall scored two touchdowns in the second period, going in from 48 yards out and scoring on a 3-yard run.
Randall and Brown added the conversion runs in the quarter.
Randall, who finished with 323 rushing yards, scored on runs of 61 and 41 yards in the third period and added an 81 yard jaunt early in the final quarter.
Andreas Swanson closed out the scoring for the Hounds with a 68-yard run.
Huntington finished with 481 yards rushing on the night.
The Hounds visit Franklin Academy Friday. |
