Story Archives: Huntington hosts Riverdale

Huntington hosts Riverdale
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Huntington coach Chad Harkins expects a high-scoring affair when Riverdale Academy of Coushatta visits Ferriday Friday.

"They throw the ball about 70 percent of the time," Harkins said. "They look a lot better on film than they have in the past."

Riverdale fell to River Oaks 47-6 in its opener before losing to Cenla 36-34 in its first district game.

The Rebels upset Tallulah 31-27 and are now 2-3 in distict play.

"They have a tendency to score pretty quick, so we have to play solid defense and control the game with the clock."

Huntington is 4-2 overall and 3-0 in MPSA District 6-A play.

"We improved against Franklin, but still had a couple of turnovers where we weren't even touched," Harkins said. "That's just lack of concentration in a crowd of people. We go from no turnovers one week to two or three the next week. Down the road we cannot have those type of mistakes."
